Does your home have kerb appeal?

The phrase,” kerb appeal” is often used when people are trying to sell their property and refers to the appearance of the outside of a property. It doesn’t matter what sort of property it is and whether the house leads directly onto the pavement or whether there is a front garden of some description, the exterior of a house can be made more attractive in a number of ways.

One way to achieve kerb appeal is to make sure that the front door, if painted, does not show signs of wear or have flaking paint. A fresh coat of paint can work wonders and looks fresh and clean. If the front door is made from plastic then it is important to make sure it is cleaned regularly especially if the property is directly on the roadside when it can get very dirty from passing traffic.

Installing hanging baskets, window boxes and planters outside the front of the property really brightens up the frontage and for very little cost the outside of a property can be transformed. Once planted with colourful blooms or well-manicured shrubs there will be very little maintenance needed throughout the spring and summer months and in winter Christmas themed planting and lights will continue the kerb appeal.
