Give your outdoor space a vintage makeover

If you are looking to redesign your garden but want to make it a bit quirky why not think about incorporating some vintage elements to the design. This may be in terms of the choice of plants, or it could be by the style of garden furniture and garden features you have.

Lots of amazing vintage garden furniture can be picked up quite cheaply on various auction or online sites or in charity shops and may only need a coat of paint to bring it back to its former glory. An old metal bench can easily be renovated with a quick sanding down and a coat of metal paint and when topped with a couple of colourful cushions looks amazing.

A wonderful cottage garden feel to the outdoor space can be achieved by planting lots of colourful wildflowers in planters of various shapes and sizes. Be inventive and use old saucepans, watering cans and crates as containers for the plants for a quirky feel to the garden.

Hanging containers on walls and fences planted with cascading strawberry plants will brighten up areas of the garden and add to the vintage feel of the project and also provide delicious strawberries to enjoy in the summer.
