Considerations for Internal Cladding

Timber cladding inside the home (or a commercial space such as a pub) is a key design feature that creates a certain ambience and speaks volumes about the style and tone set by the overall home. A house that has oak cladding boards forming part of the furnishings is obviously one that is well loved, and has been decorated by someone with good taste. There are some key things to consider before installing internal timber cladding in a house.

The first thing is moisture. If the cladding is going to be in a kitchen, bathroom or other damp room, make sure it is able to be adequately aired. V groove cladding is good for this.

The second thing is installation. Tongue and groove cladding is very easy to install and might be the best option if you are an amateur or have never installed cladding before. Boards will slot together neatly for the desired look.
